Kitchen Drawer Organization Tips

Storage is one of the most sought after things in your home and you can never have enough! But the key is how to use your storage efficiently and keep things organized. This is especially important when it comes to the kitchen drawers. It’s amazing how such a small space can become so cluttered but we’ve all been there. Luckily there’s lots of items you can buy or have custom-made to keep your home in order and actually create more space within your drawers.

Keep it Together

First things first – purge. Get rid of duplicates and unused items. Then start by bundling all “like” items. Are you a big baker? Have one drawer devoted to baking supplies. Assign a deep drawer as close to the oven as possible to store pots and pans. Cutlery goes together, dish towels, you get the picture.

You Don’t have to Break the Bank
There are many companies out there that make drawer organizers and inserts. And they don’t have to break the bank. The Container Store has tons of affordable options, as does one of our favorite brands, Blum. Just make sure you measure to ensure you are getting the right size. Insiders tip: cut a piece of paper to the size of the drawer and bring it along when shopping for drawer inserts in store. And keep in mind it’s okay if the pieces don’t fill the space entirely. Narrow gaps can hold utensils.
